Free CIT-Youth Training Crisis Intervention

CIT-Youth is a three-day adjunct to Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) training focusing on adolescent development and behavioral health concerns specific to young people. Prior completion of the 40-hour CIT curriculum is helpful, but is not a prerequisite. The target audience is School Resource Officers, Campus Safety Officers, school administrators, and counselors. Enrollment priority will be given to three-person teams comprised of these key stakeholders.

This training is provided through a grant from the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Counsel.

A cornerstone of CIT-Youth training is the extensive use of highly realistic and emotionally intense role-play scenarios using professional actors to portray people in crisis. Universally, students report that this is where the real learning in CIT-Youth training happens.
